Objectives of the project
The overall objective of the project is to create employment opportunities for educated graduates by promoting both entrepreneurship and innovation in the agro food sector, taking into consideration that the CB area possesses competitive advantages in the primary sector. The main beneficiaries being at the same time the main implementation instrument are the unemployed graduates in the CB area who by being trained in further building their entrepreneurial skills and in turn to apply this in the primary sector consequently generated business and investment hence employment and income opportunities. The project will link Universities and research centers, with business associations and industrial partners. Finally the project will establish a structure which will monitor developments in the field of promoting entrepreneurship, designing relevant policies, and transferring the results of such monitoring on top of the results of its own research to the CB area and beyond will secure its sustainability. PP3 has already established such structure, i.e. the Laboratory of Entrepreneurship that may contribute towards the feasibility of the project's sustainability design training projects and suggest policies for the CB area also it will operate as an important advisory establishment for postgraduates and a think tank for regional governments. On the other side, the Carrier Centre established within PP2 has contracted around 200 companies dealing in the agricultural sector, with an aim offering an internship and employment possibilities for the young graduates. The established links with the business sector on one and considering the companies needs for introducing development of entrepreneurship skills in the education of young graduates, also contribute to the sustainability of the project results.
